Trulia: Rents in Denver area up 9.0 percent year over year

According to Trulia's Rent Monitor report, the asking rent for rental housing in the Denver area was up 9.0 percent from November 2011 to November 2012, while asking prices for homes were up 12.4 percent during the same period. See the report here.

According to Trulia, these increases put the Denver area among the metro areas with the largest increases in rents and prices.

Being based on asking rents and asking prices, rather than actual rents and prices, these increases are a bit higher than what we're seeing in other data on rents and home prices. Nevertheless, these increases simply reinforce other data that suggest continued increases in rents and home sales, at least for the short term.
